It’s been challenging, after four days of watching the collections as a new generation of designers replaces one that is all too quickly slipping away, not to wonder if the name on the label really matters any more What The Hell Is The World Coming To T-Shirt . Just think how many of the collections from historic brands have seemed completely disconnected from something we used to describe as “heritage.” Slimane’s show at Celine tonight served to underscore how little that word actually means, since the house has been through so many iterations, not only of Phoebe Philo but also of Michael Kors. Slimane is very quickly making a Celine of his own, and, as he did at Saint Laurent and Dior previously, he made his second women’s collection the place for defining that image. This time, Slimane took a sharp turn away from the skinny and cool and moved toward an almost preppy sense of refinement. Here were below-the-knee skirts with kicky dropped pleats, in leather and scratchy tweed varieties; and also a version of a varsity jacket, leather bombers, culottes, and forgiving capes and coats. It was as if Slimane had thrown Courtney Love to the scrapheap of his mood board and replaced her with Ali MacGraw.

    Perfect, perfect. perfect. Classic Gildan fit

    Collars are nice and snug. Any guy with the slightest idea of how to dress will appreciate this. unless you’re always shooting for the “just left the gym” look, your collars should be snug. Gives you a nice clean look. Shirts fit well too. You shouldn’t be shooting for a tent look. If you are, buy a tent. If you’re a little chunky, own your lumps. Much better than walking around like you’re camping. Speaking from experience here.

    Super smurf blue

    I look like a smurf!
    Which is the look I was shooting for!!! With the bars closed I decided to go to a “smurf party” in the woods (told my wife I was workin late). I had no idea this was a freak show kinda event. There were a bunch of papa smurfs and a bunch more Smurfettes then I imagined and ordering this shirt in blue made me stand out as one of the top smurfs. Ill be ordering more in blue soon as mine is lost in the forest and the next event is coming up
