Stitch you can just supercalifuckilistic kissmyassadocious shirt
The shirt, the audacity of it, hung in the back of my closet, a tangible representation of a mood. It had been a gift, a joke from a friend who knew my penchant for dark humor and a healthy dose of rebellion. Stitch you can just supercalifuckilistic kissmyassadocious shirt, the words splashed across the front in a cartoonish font, were a verbal middle finger, cleverly disguised. I remember the day I received it, laughter erupted amongst us, fuelled by cheap beer and the feeling of shared understanding. We all had those moments, those days when polite society felt like a suffocating cage, and the urge to scream something delightfully inappropriate bubbled to the surface.

I’ve never actually worn it outside the house. There’s a certain awkwardness that comes with broadcasting such a sentiment. Though, honestly, there have been a few occasions I -almost- did. Like that time the cable company messed up my bill for the third month running, or when the supermarket checkout lady gave me the side-eye for using a coupon. I pictured the look on their faces, the subtle flinch, and it brought a twisted kind of satisfaction. The fantasy of it was often more satisfying than the reality would be.

The shirt is a reminder, a little secret weapon tucked away amongst my more conventional clothes. Sometimes, when I’m feeling particularly overwhelmed, I’ll pull it out, just to look at it. It acts like a pressure release valve. It acknowledges the frustrations, the irritations, the moments where you just want to say, “Screw it all!” without actually having to say it. And the color is bright, almost too vibrant, a clash against the darkness of the message.

I guess the appeal is in its unexpected nature. The seemingly cheerful, innocent character (Stitch, of course) paired with language that’s…well, let’s just say it’s not exactly polite. It’s a contrast that is inherently funny. It’s a statement about the disconnect between our public personas and our internal monologues. We all have that part of us, the one that wants to be a little bit rude, a little bit sassy, a whole lot irreverent.

It also reminds me of the person who gave it to me, my friend Sarah. We’ve shared so much laughter, so many stupid jokes, and countless late-night conversations. Her sense of humor is as sharp as a tack, and she always understands my need for a little bit of playful defiance. It connects me to her, to a shared history and a certain way of looking at the world, and that matters more than a provocative slogan printed on cotton.

Ultimately, the shirt itself is just a piece of fabric. But the sentiment it represents, the feelings it encapsulates, those are real. It’s about finding humor in the face of annoyance, about acknowledging the absurdity of life, and finding people who understand. It serves its purpose perfectly, just existing there in the dark, reminding me that it’s okay to have a little bit of bite, a little bit of sass, tucked away for a rainy day.

Love these shirts, so comfortable!
Some of the reviews complain these aren’t heavy like advertised, and I agree they aren’t particularly heavy. I’d say they’re average weight. But they are exactly what I was looking for and I am very pleased. I purchased the maroon. I’d say they run a tad small. I’m a 150lb women and was looking for a loose fit and had trouble deciding between ordering the medium or large. I went with the large and I’m glad I did. I want to order more colors. I only wish I could order a single one or that they had more varied color combinations.
