Sons Of Legion Eagle Shirt
The air hung thick with the scent of old leather and something indefinably… dusty, as I remember the first time I saw it. It wasn’t in some grand display, or even really advertised, no, it was just… there. Hanging on a slightly crooked rack at the back of a vintage clothing store off Main Street. I was rummaging through a pile of faded band tees, hunting for a bargain, when my eyes snagged on it, and it was the Sons Of Legion Eagle Shirt. That simple patch, the eagle, caught in a dramatic pose, felt like it was silently calling to me. I’d never heard of the Sons of Legion, didn’t know what they stood for, but there was a certain feeling of rebellious freedom that just jumped out from the shirt and it just spoke volumes.

I remember thinking, “That shirt, I need that”. I was a teenager then, full of that confusing mix of bravado and insecurity. The shirt, with its implied toughness and that slightly rebellious vibe, seemed like something that could shield me from those feelings, almost a kind of suit of armor. I’m not sure if it did, really. The shop owner, a guy with a salt-and-pepper beard and a perpetually bored expression, wanted too much money, it cost me half of my saved pocket money, which now I think of as way too much. But I bought it anyway. It was that feeling of a belonging, even if I knew nothing about who or what it represented.

That shirt became a staple. It got worn to school, to concerts, to almost every place I went. The fabric became soft from countless washes, and the eagle patch seemed to soften in the same way, losing some of its initial harshness. People would ask about it, about the Sons of Legion, and I’d just shrug. I never joined any motorcycle club or anything, but that didn’t diminish how I felt about that shirt. I never really looked into the organization, to be honest. Maybe a brief scan on the internet once, but it felt irrelevant. It was a shirt, nothing more, or less, that had some personal meaning.

Good
Size seems the same as the old one I bought a few years ago, fits the same, though the tag is different. Fabric seems a little thinner, but not by much- I might not have noticed if I wasn’t looking for it. Black one says 100% cotton on the tag.
