Slim fit offer a greater allowance around the arms, chest, and waist than a tailored fit. They are designed to cater to a wider market than tailored fit, which are ultimately targeted at a more niche audience.A tailored fit is generally the same as a slim fit, and is still designed to offer a flattering fit for the wearer by gentling tapering towards the waist. They also fit slightly differently around the arms and chest, although the difference will vary between brands. Essentially, tailored fit are meant to emulate the experience of visiting an actual tailor who would size the specifically for you. The irony of course is that tailored fit are mass-produced, like all other, and so it’s impossible to create a tailored that fits everyone. Tailored fit aren’t particularly specialised in their allowance around the chest, arms, or waist, and so still aren’t suitable for an athletic build. These are often made of 100% cotton, which sacrifices a degree of comfort.

Good outside work T-shirt
Bought these for working in my yard. They are just the right size (XL) and length. On me, the hem is down to the bottom of the front pocket openings on my jeans and the fit is slightly loose, not figure hugging.
I’m not sure what the definition of “heavy” is supposed to be. These seem to feel slightly thicker than the Hanes or Fruit of the Loom multi-pack white T-shirts you can buy at your local supermarket, but you can still easily see through them when held up to a sunny window, for example.
I waited to do this review until one shirt was washed to record the amount of shrinkage and see how the texture changed. New, they are almost silky in feel. Very nice. Once washed, they lose that and become slightly rougher, like any other T-shirt. After one wash, as shown by the photo of washed over top of new, they have lost maybe 1″-1.5″ on length, but the width change was minimal and the fit is still a loose XL. The color faded slightly also.
It’s a T-shirt and it’ll meet my intended use, but I wouldn’t say they were “special”

Husband loves this shirt. It has a great fit and compliments his muscular build. Customer service easy too. I accidentally bought the wrong size and it was easy to return and quickly get the right size. We will be buying more shirts.
