Papa Roach Infestive Holiday Christmas Shirt
The holiday season always seems to have a soundtrack, doesn’t it? And for some, maybe even many, that soundtrack isn’t filled with the tinkling bells and saccharine sweetness that the radio relentlessly churns out. I remember one particularly rebellious Christmas, a few years back, when my friend, Sarah, and I were determined to inject a little edge into our celebrations. It started with the music. We were both, and still are, massive fans of Papa Roach, and while their music might not scream “Yuletide Cheer,” we found a different kind of joy in their raw energy. So, we started brainstorming how to mesh our love of the band with the festivities, and that’s when the idea took root.

The quest for the perfect symbol began. We considered, like, a DIY approach, sketching ideas on a napkin during a particularly chaotic coffee shop visit. But neither of us are particularly artistically inclined, especially with time being tight and the shopping lists growing longer. We weren’t exactly aiming for a masterpiece, more like a statement. Finding the shirt itself was a mission, trawling through endless online stores and thrift shops. The goal: a blend of the band’s gritty aesthetic with classic holiday iconography. It was a funny juxtaposition we were after, something that would raise eyebrows and maybe even a chuckle.

Eventually, the perfect shirt materialized online. It was a dark, maybe slightly faded, charcoal grey, which I appreciated. The graphic, a stylized skull wearing a Santa hat, seemed almost made for us. Above the skull in a suitably gothic font was “Papa Roach,” and beneath, rather appropriately, “Infestive Holiday.” It arrived in a flimsy plastic bag, smelling faintly of warehouse storage. I recall ripping open the packaging with a certain excitement, almost like unwrapping a regular Christmas present. I knew that it would be a talking point, guaranteed, and that’s exactly what we wanted.

My husband loved this shirt, the medium was a great fit and materials were well made and even after washing it it holds its shape and there’s no discoloration of colors. This was a great way to go or his childhood basketball player, he loved how comfortable this shirt is
